Students will be aware of their own values and beliefs as well as those of others. They will have an understandng of the role of faith in shaping our personal values and those of society. Links with Geography, Philosophy, History, Science, Citizenship: Students will look at working individually and as part of a team. Students will also be required to do independent research.

Human Rights

What are human rights? What does religion have to say about human rights? What is prejudice and discrimination? What is racism? How has religion fought racism (Civil rights movement)

What is poverty? How does religion respond to poverty? What is fair trade?

What happens when human rights clash? How do religions fight social injustice?

Alien Adventures in Philosophy

Where do we want to live? Should you be food? Can we think like an alien? How should we share our Alien Inheritence? How do we punish an alien?
