Following his successful visit to Years 9,10 and 11 earlier in the year, Gavin Mackenna from ‘Reach Every Generation’ returned to the school to visit Year 7 and 8 earlier this week.
He and his team shared their experiences of gang life and the consequences of the choices they and those around them made. His emotive assembly was done with humour and brought to life the realities that face many of our young people growing up in Britain today.
Knife crime, gang culture, drugs and crime are something we all unfortunately live around, and for our young people, growing up can bring challenges we have not had to face and it is important that the experience of people like Gavin are told to help enable them to learn how to deal with situations that may lead them down a negative path.
Gavin will be in later this year to speak to parents and we hope that many of you are able to join us. We will share further details soon on when this will be.
